The Paper Palace
Before reviewing the book The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley, I want to say, these reviews are just for educational purposes and also a way to communicate with readers about how the book seems to me. It is the generalization of perspectives not to impose everything on others. I personally think the book isn’t for the readers who really don’t enjoy reading stressful things like references to sexual exploitation or bold content; don’t pick up this book. But if you are comfortable reading it and you are aware that these are fictional books, go ahead.
Elle is the main character of the story. Elle visits the paper palace every summer. It has been many years; this is also the place where she met one of her good friends, Jonas. Elle and Jonas develop a deep relationship. in this time. After years they move to different places and get married. As you get deep into the story and the demonstration of Elle’s childhood, you will get to know may be the reason why they cheat on their spouses.
Elle has to choose now whether she has to stay with Peter and keep cheating or she could move to Jonas. There’s another unusual perspective: what about her children? If she ever leaves, what traumatic changes can occur in their life? But, obviously, cheating was never fine. Do let me know in the comments what you think she could have done.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is The Paper Palace about?
The Paper Palace is about Elle and Jonas probably cheating on their spouses. The guilt appeared in Elle’s mind, and the past trauma is the whole story’s circle. The book is young adult literature that is also linked with family responsibilities, loyalty, and maturity in relationships.
Did Elle choose Jonas or Peter in the end?
Elle slipped her wedding ring and swims to Jonas. That’s the end of the story. I find it really hard to figure out what could be the best choice. I mean, on one side is her childhood dream, and on the other is the traumatic future of her children if she ever left. Her children could face the same trauma that she had gone through.
