Welcome with a pretty interesting story that has admired young minds, Maybe It’s a Sign by E. L. Shen. Seventh-grade Freya June Sun is entirely obsessed with Chinese superstitions and the presence of good and bad luck. After the loss of her father, Freya believes that her father is watching her and sends her the signs that she might have to follow throughout her life. For instance, on her way to an orchestra concert where she’s dreading her viola solo.  A pair of lucky red birds appear, which indicates that Dad wants Freya to stick with the instrument and make him proud. The story is both emotional and heartfelt.

And that’s a big decision in her life where she has not received any single sign from her father. With the help of her family and Gus, she decides things her way. She finally learns that she can make her luck herself.
